Although it was more than two decades ago, I remember it clearly. I was flown to appear on two occasions of “The Sally Jessy Raphael” nationally syndicated talk show (Rocher, 2016). This is due to a book that touched upon eating disorders that I wrote, beginning at the age of 15 and published after graduating from the University of Southern California with a bachelor’s degree in print journalism and a certificate in women’s and gender studies, called SWMS, the Study of Women and Men in Society.

While you may have been able to get by with a good Google search when it came to writing papers during your undergraduate program, this will simply not be the case for a graduate-level programgraduate level writing. You can still use Google; however, you’ll just need to use it in a different way (more about that later).

We practice etiquette in almost every one of our day-to-day activities, whether it is waiting our turn in line at the grocery checkout stand, fairly tipping our waiters, or even using the correct silverware at a high profile charity banquet. This also goes for netiquette within the online discussion board for the Master of Science in Communication program.

During the MS in Communication program, it is extremely important to have good time management planning and to stay organized.

In my humble opinion, I do not believe that a master’s is necessary for career advancement… but it definitely helps in achieving it!

One of the most beneficial aspects of starting an online program at Purdue is that the class materials are posted in advance. As each class was beginning and ending I would prepare by reading the syllabus and class schedule for the upcoming class.

Let’s be honest, there are plenty of options when it comes to looking for a college or university. Between local schools and the growth of distance education, the number of choices has increased making a hard decision a little more difficult. I, for one, am not fond of making decisions.

As a graduate student in the online Master of Science in Communication degree program, each class has provided a new scope of knowledge about strategic messaging. I have enjoyed so many rewarding experiences, but for me, my favorite experience may not be what you expect … it is writing a final class paper.
