What You’ll Learn in EDCI 60001

This course is designed to help you to understand the knowledge and skills necessary for your successful online learning in the Learning Design and Technology program, with a focus on the process of earning digital badges aligned with professional competencies. In this orientation, you will explore what online learning entails and reflect on how you can best set yourself up to succeed in your studies. You will also learn and apply the process of both earning digital badges within the program and evaluating your peers’ work as part of the badge earning process.

Course Goals

As a function of participating in this course, you will:

  1. Learn the specifics of the LDT Master’s program and its requirements familiarize yourself with resources, review targeted learning competencies, and program requirements.
  2. Examine skills and approaches to obtain competency badges critical to your success as a student in the online program, including peer review, self-editing, effective time management, avoiding plagiarism, utilizing proper online etiquette and incorporating a positive disposition in your interactions with peer students, faculty and staff.
  3. Become familiar with the badge earning process in LDT and progress in earning your first digital badges.
