Sharon Taylor

Dr. Taylor is a multi-award winning adjunct faculty with more than 15 years’ professional experience teaching and designing online courses in higher education at the graduate and undergraduate levels, include competency-based education (CBE) initiatives.

As an independent consultant since 2003, Dr. Taylor has provided e-learning services and created training workshops, instructional interventions, and faculty and student supplements for the higher-education domain. As a consultant for The Online Learning Consortium (The Sloan Consortium), Dr. Taylor designed, developed, and facilitated the "Getting Started: The First Step Toward Teaching Online" workshop that served as the foundational prerequisite course for Sloan-C's Online Teaching Certificate (OTC) and Blended Learning Certificate Program. Dr. Taylor has also authored, edited, and presented learning content for the major education publishers, including Pearson, McGraw-Hill, and Wiley.

Dr. Taylor's research interests include applying learning design and technology (LDT) for mobile learning (m-learning), game-based learning, gamification, and e-Books for e-Learning while applying Sweller's (1988) Cognitive Load Theory (CLT). See dissertation Abstract at ERIC
